Regional business class, especially on narrow body (single aisle) aircraft, has always been the poor cousin to long-haul business class.
But has Thai Airways changed the script? I recently flew with Thai on a 2 hour flight from Singapore to Bangkok and got to experience their new regional business class on a brand new A321-neo.
How was it? Sensational!
I've always been impressed with Thai Airway's meals and onboard catering. They just do food well - both in terms of quality and quantity. This is easier to do on a larger aircraft with bigger galleys. It's not so easy on a smaller A321. But they did it.
Business class seats are also harder to get right on a narrow bodied aircraft - there just isn't the space. But Thai have done it, offering full lie flat beds in business class that would put some long haul carriers to shame.
This Thai Airways business class flight review was an accident. I wasn't supposed to be on this flight. But I'm glad I was. Is this the best regional business class in the world? Join me we'll experience it together.
