It seems like every time Marcus Thomas gets behind the pulpit, the message somehow ends up being about money. Tithes, offerings, sowing seeds, giving sacrificially—it’s becoming repetitive, and frankly, it’s getting tiresome.
The church should be a place where believers are fed the full counsel of God: repentance, holiness, salvation, discipleship, prayer, Christian living, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. But when financial giving continually becomes the centerpiece of the sermon, serious questions need to be asked about what is actually being emphasized from the pulpit.
In this video, we take another look at Marcus Thomas and examine why so many of his messages appear to revolve around money. There’s nothing wrong with biblical teaching on generosity and giving, but when nearly everything seems to circle back to people reaching into their pockets, the emphasis can become unhealthy.
