Ready to play Is it Fake? Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, Beast stars Idris Elba as a widower on an African trip who becomes the target of a man-eating lion.
The challenge on a show like ‘Beast’ comes from creating completely photoreal creatures that feel natural in the way that they perform. Lions are mostly made of muscles. For every moment and movement they make, different shapes for the muscle were crafted and the way the skin moves over them also has to be reflected too. Lighting is crucial in nailing photorealism and the team were lucky enough to have a beautiful lion called Mojo on location to use as reference.
