Yes, even if it’s tomorrow.
The reason is because I have seen too many people lose the offer to someone else who was farther along in the process.
Most people assume hiring processes are linear, where each candidate is evaluated in the first round, then a group moves to the second round, and so on.
But in reality, that’s not how most companies operate.
If someone does well, and the timing works out, the company may move the candidate through first and second round interviews before your interview even happens for the first round.
So when you push your interview date out, others are having multiple rounds of interviews in the meantime.
Yes, more prep time sounds great.
But in job searching, timing is critical, and time kills deals.
So next time you get the choice...
