Today in the news we discuss intel Alchemist’s arrival and the disappointing AMD gpu. What is up guys im snows and this is your boot sequence.
Let’s get started with intel. Specifically, lets talk ARC GPU’s. A couple of days ago, intel did a little sneakaroo move to the information available on their alchemist gpu’s. They talked a very big talk last year when it came to technologies available, how hard they were working on it, etc etc. They even gave us a Release window! … Or did they ?
I distinctly remember seeing a release window of Q1 2022 on their marketing page and in some videos. Its not here… not here… Ah, Found it : PLAY CLIP. So it looks like intel is quietly removing marketing material that show Q1 as its release date. But that’s no surprise. We’ve been hearing about delays for arc pretty much all week, and most of what we heard pointed at a Q2 release. And the release schedule was even worse. Apparently, the first GPU’s to show their face will likely be laptop gpu’s early on, in april according to an MLID source, with higher end desktop models coming in late Q2, so June.
But.. Now it looks even worse. Another youtuber slash leaker, paul from redgaming tech has received some extra information from his sources. First, I didnt know that but Alchemist was actually supposed to debut TSMC’s 6nm process. Like it was supposed to launch with an intel product. Instead we got AMD pushing out their 6500 XT. That means intel was looking into a super early 2022 release but missed the mark.
