Is evolution true? This is an important question. It is a question that can only be answered by first defining terms. What exactly do we mean by the word "evolution"? If by evolution, we mean change over time, or change in allele frequencies in populations over generation, then we can safely conclude this this is something we observe. But if by evolution, a person means that all life (including banana plants and whales) are related through common ancestry, then no, this is not something that is scientific. The types of changes observed in the biological world are horizontal and not vertical (the types of changes required for large-scale evolution).
