I discuss the fine-tuning argument with Matthew from @deliberationunderidealcond5105. We consider the possibility of different laws of nature and how we should assess the simplicity and predictibility of different possible laws. We also discuss Conway's Game of Life and its relevance for assessing how 'fine-tuned' laws need to be go generate complexity. We conclude by discussing how effective Theism is in explaining fine-tuning, considering issues like how to infer agency and the extent to which we can appeal to background beliefs to predict divine actions.
