Back at IRM once again!
On a mostly cloudy Sunday, we made a visit to the Illinois Railway Museum to attend their annual Vintage Transport Extravaganza! An event that I sometimes attend, sometimes don't attend, it really depends on if I'm in the area or not. This year had a wide assortment of vehicles present for display including a replica of Pete Hamilton's Plymouth Superbird, some old firetrucks, a few buses and trucks, as well as a car painted in the colors of the Southern Pacific Daylight! While the cars were amazing, the trains were also great such as BN 9976 on the coach train and Shay 5 sporting a new whistle in the form of a rare Norfolk & Western experimental 3 Chime! All in all, it was a good day to be out at the museum, but we're not done with the museum yet, as we got a big event coming this upcoming weekend. Stay tuned. Enjoy!
