Iridescent's mission is to inspire and support children to become engineers, creators, tinkerers, inventors and scientists. Over the past 2 years, it has provided 107,827 contact hours to underserved children, youth and their families through the generous support of the Office of Naval Research.

Our impact:

FAMILY SCIENCE: +30,000 HOURS OF IMPACT
Empowering parents to explore and discover science along with their children

- 74% of children said that they would keep trying to complete a project even if they couldn't figure something on the first attempt
- 66% of parents reported increased confidence in talking about science with others

ENGINEERS AS TEACHERS: +15,000 HOURS OF TRAINING
Helping engineers and scientists communicate their passion to the public, they have developed more than 200 engineering activities.

BE AN INVENTOR: opportunity for middle school students to work on long-term, engineering projects

- 100% reported the program helped them to realize that they are good at engineering

EXPLAINERS: high school students pursuing long-term engineering projects and learning to mentor

TECHNOVATION CHALLENGE: inspiring girls to use technology to become creators, inventors and engineers

- Over 800 high school girls have created 125 mobile phone apps and learned how to start their own business
- 94% now believe that a career in technology is a good career for women
- 88% know more about programming
- 12,000 hours of mentoring from women in tech

DIGITAL CURRICULUM: exponentially increasing Iridescent's impact through technology
