(April 30, 2014) The tornado that struck Vilonia, Arkansas on Sunday claimed the life of Daniel Wassom, 31. The father of two daughters, Lorelei, 5 and Sydney, 7 was an Iraq War veteran who served in the Arkansas Air National Guard as a load master moving cargo in and out of planes. Authorities say Wassom died shielding his family from tornado debris. "He was truly my hero and I'm going to miss him greatly," said Wassom's father, Daniel Ray Wassom, Sr. A fundraising page for the family had raised more than $45,000 as of Wednesday afternoon. ow.ly/wlEHn
