This 30-minute webinar from Colin Cassidy, Security Consultant for IOActive, will introduce you to Industrial Ethernet switches and their vulnerabilities.
Industrial Ethernet switches are used in environments such as substations, factories, refineries, ports, and other homes of industrial automation. In other words: DCS, PCS, ICS, and SCADA switches.
Colin will present research focused on attacking the management plane of these switches. Industrial system protocols lack authentication or cryptographic integrity. This means that compromising any single switch could allow malicious firmware to be created, which in turn enables further Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) manipulation of live industrial processes.
This webinar will provide attendees with a better understanding of:
- The types of vulnerabilities present in industrial switches
- How these vulnerabilities impact the industrial processes in which they are hosted
- The processes, tools, and techniques security researchers use to find such vulnerabilities
- The real security profile of industrial network infrastructure
- What owners/operators can do to improve their security posture
