Cloud Native Applications and Platforms have been growing in popularity over the last few years. Kubernetes particularly declared itself as the de facto standard of container orchestration. This talk explores the challenges faced within this ecosystem and how SPIFFE as a universal machine identity for distributed systems framework is trying to address these challenges. The talk also explores how some popular open source project such as cert-manager is leveraging SPIFFE.
