Back in October of 2024, two photographs of alleged “ghosts” were featured in a news segment from WGRZ Ch. 2 in Buffalo, New York, (Most Buffalo: 'The USS The Sullivans haunted ship’ – aired Oct 28, 2024).
In the segment, news anchors Courtney Cortright and Pete Gallivan take a tour of the USS The Sullivans with Shane Stephenson, Director of Museum Collections, looking for ghosts. Along the way, they meet Docent Jess, who claims to have genuine photos of ghosts – which is eagerly shows to the camera. After the segment, I was flooded with requests to check out the photos and see what I could find. I met with Shane Stephenson, who provided a tour and access to the areas and objects in the “ghost” photos. Then I meet up with Docent Jess to see the original photos in person…and get some behind the scenes information.
Come along with me (and my wife) as we investigate these claims, learn some history, and solve two mysteries; the “Disappearing Face” portrait and the “shower curtain peeking” ghost.”
