At Maker Faire Rome 2024, we had the chance to check out a potentially life-saving project by students from ITS La Spezia. Their device, called WI-FIRE, is an intelligent support bracket for fire extinguishers that leverages the Wi-Fi capabilities of the Arduino Nano 33 IoT for real-time monitoring and notifications. This helps ensure extinguishers are always operational and ready for use, addressing both safety and maintenance challenges.
