Welcome to my glorified PowerPoint aiming to simplistically explain exactly what a tool-assisted speedrun, or TAS, actually is, as well as how they are created!
Misinformed comments I've received on my uploads during 7.5 years of TASing about how "it's cheating" and that "a computer/robot makes these" are a couple of the sparks that motivated me to write, record, and edit a video like this. I hope I managed to clearly convey what being a TASer is like and the time-consuming effort players have to put into their speedruns to achieve a successful final product.

2 years ago to the day (my birthday =D), I posted my first Wario World any% WIP. Last year, I still hadnt picked it up yet due to emulation issues. After showing you all the new 1-1 I did recently, I kicked out this 1-2 pretty fast.
Following that, Ive improved it by a few frames up to the blue switch (0:15) and also figured out a new technique for the end of all levels (thanks to Kriole http://www.youtube.com/user/Kriole). It lets you skip the statue disappearing animation, if you have all the required crystals, by simply clipping through with a ground pound.
Since this run was made, I have redone the end of 1-1 with that timesaver, saved on the boss fight, and like I said, improved the beginning of this level. Hopefully when I finish 1-2, this SandWorm fight will hex edit nicely. I plan to upload a full WIP of World 1 after the Dino-Mighty fight is over with, so stay tuned for that (it will include all the improvements and new trick).

It beats the previous TASVideos WR by 39.47 seconds of input frames (1184 total) and 40.44 seconds of real time, prior to conversion from U to J. This change was made purely because J is finally faster than U for this category.
