this shit took me way too long and still didn't turn out as well as i intended but at least im done with this case now.Fishtank Strat 3Gaehne D.2017-04-24 | Here you see the failed attempt of strat 3 which took a lot of calculation and planning in the first place and quite some time to execute as well. In case i didn't miss something, i think this strat is most likely doomed too because of the height that is caused from the required speed. So even my last plan didn't work out... :( btw feel free to stop the video at any point and run it in slowmotion, because as sad as it sounds, im limited to upload my sm64 videos without editing at all...Fishtank Strat 2 (and basically Strat 1 as well)Gaehne D.2017-02-26 | This was my best attempt to escape the fish tank. After some testing i'm now 99% sure it is impossible to get out of the fish tank without resetting the game. In the video i get slightly more than 201 max speed but the glass part of the wall requires a min 204 speed to clip through. So while it sounds doable now, it is not! The problem is, after Mario passes the 200 speed mark he will no longer be able to do the drop down wall kicks to decrease his hight anymore. Thus you only have limited time to reach the remaining 4 speed in order to clip through the glass and not only that, you also have to manouver Mario sideways towards the glass which will cost even more additional speed. So that's it for the glass strat. Now that it seems unlikely to clip through the glass part, how about the rest of the wall? Well, the actual wall requires a min speed of 408 so simply double the speed of the glass. In theory this should be doable with HSWKs you might think...? I also tested that strat and it appears that after Mario reaches the 400 speed mark he will no longer be able to wall kick anymore because there will be no air frame to release the "A" button and change Marios moving angle anymore to build up more speed. So since this seems to be impossible either it looks like the fish tank truly is a dead end if you end up in it with no remaining speed. However, there is one more thing i could think of...SM64 LLL freerun TASGaehne D.2016-12-05 | I present to you the best resolution possible with current plugins and without any stretching and squishing! I calculated a more optimal image size which uses the full height of the 1440p screen format to provide the best possible resolution for SM64 footage (note that this may only work with the SM64 ROM since this reduces the height of the original 4:3 screen size by a little) This is a 2056x1440p video which has been made via script encoding, rendering and cropping with several programmes. Originally i was aiming for something special for SM64's 20th anniversary which is 2016 but i couldn't think of anything spectacular and i also had no time to TAS stuff too... so in the end i went with a rushed 0 star run because i thought it wouldn't take much time. Well, it turned out this cathegory isn't that trivial and therfore it took me around 3 months to TAS. (don't cancel the ending!) this is a tool assisted speedrun (TAS) I made sometime in 2012 (I’m guessing). It’s also my first ever complete TAS run, which took me about 80 hours to TAS! It also took me months until I was finally able to record and edit it.
