Phasors are used as a shorthand for representing sinusoidal signals. They allow simplification of the analysis of AC voltages and currents. The term phasor is a portmanteau of PHAse and vectOR because phasors are used to help represent the phase and magnitude of AC signals. This video describes how a phasor can be used to represent AC signals
