Introduction to Houdini: Fluids is out now! David Silberbauer teaches how to create a fluid-interaction shot of sharks in an ocean in this new 4.5-hr workshop. He begins with warm-up exercises that show how to set up simple fluid scenes using Houdini’s built-in shelf tools, then moves into white-water setups, where he demonstrates the differences between DOP and SOP workflows. From there, building on the experiences learned, he jumps into shot work, bringing in a shark animation and setting up a basic ocean tank. In the final phase, he shows how to assemble all the elements in Solaris and render using Karma.
