Only a short stretch of Highway 395 cuts through Nevada, about 85 miles, but it travels through one of the most historic parts of the Silver State. In fact, this area is why Nevada has been called the Silver State.
As U.S. Route 395 enters Nevada, you enter the edge of the Great Basin, and travel through it has you head back towards California, passing through historic towns like Minden, Gardnerville, and Nevada's capitol, Carson City. Then you head into the largest city along the entirety of Highway 395, Reno.
Along the way you pass through historic sites that link back to the area's mining boom.
In this video we travel the entire length of Highway 395 in Nevada, from Topaz Lake to White Lake.
