With a lot of focus on Platformer levels in these early days of 2.2, which is to be expected, it's nice to see some great Classic levels too. Bpi has been working on this for some weeks, with many sick previews uploaded. I've been waiting for the release of the level since, and it's nice to finally experience it in-game myself.
The visuals are, as expected, really nice. Each frame looks fantastic on its own, but it's made even better thanks to the smooth transitions between each scene. It's clearly inspired by great motion graphics, and seeing that done so well in Geometry Dash is hype. There are clear uses of gradient and shader effects, such as blur and bulge. Bpi has implemented them really well in a short amount of time. This is only 18K objects, so it should perform quite well for most players, which I assume is much thanks to 2.2 features. I do have to say that the visuals of the later parts are a bit more boring, but the song also slows down a lot, making it harder to do anything as crazy as the beginning. A little more length could've helped to build up the quality again.
With these visuals, you may have expected this to be an Auto level. However, it does actually have some gameplay. You have to fly from 0:08 to 0:26 using the little circle as your icon. This was quite unexpected and hard to read for me on my first attempt, and I expect that it may be like that for many other players too. At 0:36 and 0:44, your actual icon is visible, so it's easy to understand that you have to hit the orbs. I wish the earlier parts were as clear too. With this in mind, I have a feeling RobTop may rate it Epic and 3 Stars (rather than 2 as requested), but we will see. Regardless of the rating it gets, this is a very impressive level by Bpi, and I'm excited to see what they do in the future!

This was Serponges entry to Waboos contest a while back, which Rage Quit by bli was also submitted for. Since then, he has polished it up quite a bit, and now its actually released as an entry to the NCS Gauntlet Contest. I wasnt expecting him to use basically the same level for both contests, but Im not complaining about more cool entries. Of course, I wont be giving an in-depth review here to not spoil anything about the results. By the way, they will happen on Saturday, October 5 at 4 pm EDT on RobTops channel. I hope to see you there!
*COIN RATING*
Overall: Silver. 2/4. The level only has one coin, which is noticeably harder than the normal route. Its also got a cool alternate path to go with it. Note that the 3 heart collectables you see in the part at 1:06 arent for the coin, but instead they allow you to respawn when you die.
- 1st Coin: Silver. The coin begins at 1:39, and as you can see, it is much in the spirit of the last coin in Stereo Madness. This choice makes sense as this is technically a remake of Stereo Madness like all entries to Waboos contest were. That does inherently make the coin less original, but Id say Serponge did a good job of making it feel unique enough. For one, the screen is rotated and quite zoomed out, which makes the coin play differently than the original to begin with. Additionally, the visuals of everything getting torn apart makes it all the more intense. As a result, even though this coin is basically the same gameplay as the original third coin, it still feels and plays quite different. Its not difficult to find at all considering this, but its hard enough to get with cool visuals.

Lots of people have been requesting that I showcase this NCS Gauntlet Contest entry, and I can see why after beating it. Its quite different from the ones Ive uploaded so far stylistically and in its inclusion of a bossfight. As always, I wont give any constructive feedback here since the deadline is still a month away. However, I will say that its been really fun to see what NCS songs creator choose and what approach they take for the level to fit the song. Im sure there will be plenty more cool entries to come in the remaining month. We will soon begin judging the entries, which will probably be challenging due to the amount of entries, and especially the amount of good ones, but it will be exciting to see how it all turns out.

Vernam asked me about verifying their upcoming Easy Demon about 6 months ago, and after Binary Life, I was very interested. cherryteam has been making high-quality projects consistently for a long while now, so its no surprise this is another great megacollab. With it running into 2.2 a bit, theyve also introduced some new features, and particularly shader effects. This is most noticeable at 0:21. Outside of that, this is mostly a 2.1 project. Its got a couple creators Ive uploaded multiple levels by, as well as some new names, which is always fun to see in such a cool project. Every part incorporates some art, on top of the unique color scheme, making the whole level cohesive. I really like the sense of depth created by the numerous layers in the background and foreground moving at different speeds.
The gameplay is also quite fun, with every part being clear and intuitive to play. Id only recommend a practice run to get used to a couple of the transitions at the climax, which have some quick gameplay. All in all, this is another sweet megacollab by cherryteam, and itll be fun to see their full 2.2 projects. With 2.2s optimizations, a lot more people will be able to enjoy big megacollabs, like cherryteams, in-game themselves rather than just on video.
