The video opens near McLean, a town closely tied to the legacy of U.S. Route 66, where remnants of older alignments and roadside businesses still echo the era before the interstate system reshaped long-distance travel.

Leaving McLean, Interstate 40 quickly settles into a steady westward rhythm. The terrain here is gently rolling prairie, with subtle elevation changes that are easy to miss unless watched carefully. Despite its modest size, the town marks a clear transition point along I-40, where the road continues its steady march across the Panhandle.

It’s a stretch where the simplicity of the landscape becomes the main attraction, and where travelers often find unexpected stops in these communities.
