Statement by Dr Maria Neira, Director of WHO Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health. This October 2024 we launch the twelfth International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action seeks to raise awareness and promote action to address the human health effects of lead exposure, especially in children. WHO urges all governments to invest in training health workers to identify lead poisoning and sources of lead.
