Beat the Heat is a rhythm game where you must synchronize your movements with the beat of the music to deliver ice cream.

Unfortunately the team was unable to complete the final version of Beat the Heat in time for the deadline. Instead, we had to submit an earlier build, which, while functional, lacks some of the planned polish and features. Sometimes thats how game jams go haha
Also this was my first brazilian game jam!

The Wayfarer stops to set up his camp just before dawn. He likes to spend the last hours of the night performing maintenance on his drones and guns and playing his guitar, although he is not very good at it. He does not know many songs or chords. He is not a musician, much less an artist. The Wayfarer is the practical type.
Besides, an artist needs faith and faith is bad for business. Its not like he doesnt like God, its just that the followers of the Man Jesus, Allah or Zen are too loud. Noisy people, he thinks, are like that because they cant handle the babble they make inside their own heads.
The desert is silent. And thats precisely why he likes the guitar: it keeps away the noise it makes inside his head.

Carnaval Run is an endless runner where you must quickly switch colors to match obstacles

I wanted to experiment with a samba rhythm in chiptune style, haha
I started by crafting the drum and percussion section using only 8-bit samples. While most of it is still built from noise samples, I eventually incorporated real instrument samples, compressing them to mimic the lo-fi character of classic consoles. The rest of the track was created using Magical8bit Plug inside Ableton Live.
