Let’s get started with intel. A lot of CPU news has popped out lately, but it's been a while since we’ve had any Alchemist GPU news! First, It looks like the company is going to abandon their Machine learning and media-optimized Datacenter GPUs. We’ve heard a lot about their Arctic sound platform aka Xe HP. And raja recently confirmed that it will be used as a software development platform internally, but they don't intend on actually making it a product.
In fact, this tiled GPU has evolved into both Xe HPG and HPC products. So that means we’re likely to see something more similar to AMD and Nvidia. They both use their consumer platform in the more prosumer level, but with changes such as HBM memory and custom drivers for the different workloads. So these Xe HPG GPU’s will be spread across the Gaming, Workstation and data center market. This is a little scary since these are manufactured at TSMC, so all those dies being scattered means less for us, since Xe HP was supposed to be built in-house using their 10nm enhanced superfin later renamed intel 7 process.
Let’s at least hope that their plans of making this chip in multiple tiles also comes to market. If you remember, the 4 tile version of the Xe HP config had a TDP of around 400 to 500w which would dont of be in line with future generations!
