The Diplomats, also known as Dipset, is a group of American hip hop artists formed in 1997 by friends Cam'ron and Jimmy Jones from Harlem, New York. Originally, the group included Cam'ron, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey, who all grew up together in Harlem. Later, in 1999, Juelz Santana, another rapper from Harlem, joined the group.In 2001, after Cam'ron signed a deal, the group got a record deal with Roc-A-Fella Records. They started making their first album, Diplomatic Immunity, which came out in March 2003 on Roc-A-Fella Records. Because of problems between Cam'ron and Jay-Z, they left Roc-A-Fella Records and signed with Koch Records, a smaller label. They released their second album, Diplomatic Immunity 2, in November 2004 with Koch Records.
