Today’s video was a fun one — we installed a custom-made set of bunk beds in our Scania truck, something that normally isn’t even an option on an R-Series without the high roof.
Samuel over at Laxå Special Vehicles in Sweden stepped up and had a custom bunk bed setup built specifically for our truck. Once it was finished, Scania’s logistics team helped get the bunk beds shipped all the way from Sweden to the USA, which in itself is pretty wild.
We spent the day installing everything here at the shop, and while it was definitely a tight squeeze getting everything in place, the end result turned out great.
Is the top bunk a little tight for Ryan? Yeah… it is 😅
But it sure beats sitting straight up in the seat all night trying to sleep.
This install really shows what’s possible when you combine good people, creative problem solving, and a truck that was never supposed to have this option in the first place.
Huge thanks again to Samuel and Laxå Special Vehicles, and to Scania’s logistics team for making this happen.
Let me know in the comments — would you sleep in the top bunk?
