Today’s video is a wild one — we just bought a 2003 Peterbilt 379 hybrid semi-truck that many of you will recognize. This is the ReVolt Motors truck from Texas… the same truck we filmed with earlier this year. It features a Scania diesel powering a generator, massive lithium battery packs, and electric drive axles pushing over 800 horsepower in hybrid mode.
We helped custom-build this truck for their 2024 show season, but due to changes in government incentives and the company shutting down, the project was abandoned. That left this one-of-a-kind hybrid Peterbilt sitting… not running… and needing a LOT of work.
So when the chance came to buy it — we grabbed it.
In today’s video:
• We reveal the truck and its current condition
• Talk about the hybrid system and what it takes to make it run
• Show what’s missing, what’s broken, and what we need to figure out
• And ask the BIG question…
👉 Do we restore the hybrid system?
Or rip everything out and build an insane show truck with a diesel swap?
I honestly don’t know which way this build will go — but this is officially the start of the project.
