Many of the terrain tronics boards use a commonly available board called the Wemos D1 Mini as the central brain of operations.
The Microcontroller on the Wemos D1 Mini is an ESP8266 - an easy to program, wifi capable chip that can handle all the cool lighting and control effects we want to do with our #Wargaming and #DungeonsandDragons #Terrain.
However, the chip that sits between your USB cable and the ESP8266 requires a driver to work on Windows (and on Mac and USB). Without installing the driver, the PC will never realize what's been connected!
