In a previous video, I covered the automation and scripts I used with Home Assistant to determine my family is home, but I didn't walk through setting up the presence detection piece. So consider this a follow up to that video. In reality, this one probably should have been first, but it's 2020, so I feel the order is in keeping with the overall theme of the year.
In this video, we are going to cover installing the four presence detection integrations I use:
Home Assistant Companion App
Life360
Apple iCloud
Waze
If you want to know how to get these services integrated with Home Assistant this video is for you. We walk through what is needed to app or service set up and integrating the service with Home Assistant. And we cover some of the data that you get that could be extremely useful in automation or sensors as well as some of my use cases along the way.
