Living on the threshold of the Namib Desert is a life style choice that Eric and his two children have made. On the edge of this absolute desert, man, like beast, must adapt.

There exists on our planet people who have chosen a different life. A life where their work and their passions are one. This series of documentary films is about people off the beaten track, who remind us that there is still today a great diversity of men, women and children who live their lives simply and differently. Often they live surrounded by a difficult natural environment that challenges them everyday and often that same natural environment is why they are there. This series of portraits from around the world comes as an answer to the stress and desires that city living has created. They are encounters that contradict the modern vision of a world that is shrinking and that highlights the diversity and uniqueness of people from around our planet. Take another look at our world with no borders and the diversity of people that live here "Terra Incognita".

This documentary was produced by Patly Productions and directed by Dominique PIPAT. It was first released in 2000.
