(KUTV) At 35 years old, Jonas Harmon is still riding what many might think to be a kid's bicycle. But his 20-inch BMX bike has taken him overseas and made him a world champion.

Harmon started racing when he was 15 years old.

"I love the thrill," he said.

But he quit at 23 to go to school. At 30, he got back into the BMX world.

"I felt like I had some work that was unfinished," Harmon said. "I didn't accomplished everything I wanted to and I wanted to travel internationally."

So Harmon started training six days a week. He went on to race for Team USA, won a national championship in 2012, and won the Race of Champions in 2013.

But, in July of last year, his career came to a sudden halt. Someone crashed into him during a race in Belgium.
