NOTE:The day i scooped these feral bees from their wild hive wall in Australia it was 37.4 degrees Celsius, that is the third hottest October day in 120 years of record keeping for that date.
In Australia it is commonly over 26 degrees Celsius, and as much as a third of larvae can die from direct tin lid heat if the chamber is a brood chamber single full-deep to establish the hive(these are feral they have a brude chamber).
On that note, the lid-cover on the hive is a migratory type.
It is made of three sections, the tin top supported by four sides-edges with four large vented holes to allow basic air-flow under the tin, and finally a Masonite cover above the brude frames closing off the full-deep chamber except a central air flow hole.
This prevents direct radiation of heat onto the brude and brude-chamber.

(note: the feral hive entrance video shows the Langstroth hive in late mid winter with no NSW registration painted on the front - the bees were not tempted and were eventually scraped from the wall during swarm in October)
This is nine days later from the Monday ending of the Queens Birthday long weekend in October 2015
Inside, the bees have begun to draw out wax comb from a foundation template on a frame. They started on it around two days earlier for what i could see.
