As a school therapist, she is privy to some disconcerting trends, all of which trend into negative realities. She calls these institutions "abuse factories" in which the distractions have become the primary signal and feature of day to day life. Behavioral issues are crowding out learning in substantial and consequential ways, and there is very little chance for signal to be heard or experienced.
The guardians of the school system lack a coherent philosophy and are instead focused on "passing the kids through" and looking the other way.
