aka Back of the Castle (which one is the better name? you decide), or advanced Behind the Castle.
RhoThanos found out that there's a very slippy part behind the dome (or maybe a point where Mario warps from one floor to another in 1 frame) that causes a significantly fast slope jump, going nearly twice the speed of a long jump.
For some reason I could only get this by holding Z a couple of frames before sliding, but Rho said they have always done it without Z, so I suspect it is just a position that holding Z helped me reach (holding Z while running on a slope seems to slow Mario down if not crouching).
The most annoying part of this strat is actually when landing on the back of the castle. Most of the time, Mario slides with the remaining momentum and enter the gravity that ends up at the start of the wheel section, losing a few seconds.
The issue is that you can't very easily move on the back of the wall; some directions do absolutely nothing.
I couldn't find a 100% consistent way to stop this, but holding up-left helped in this case to land and start running away from the wrong gravity, and then continuing up this way got to the end of the wheel section where I could swing around into the launch star.
