50 Moganshan Road, better known as M50 Creative Park, is an art quarter in Shanghai, that houses a community of over a hundred artists and galleries, including some of the China's leading art galleries like ShanghART. It is often compared with New York's SoHo and Beijing's 798 Art Zone.
Compared to 798, M50 is a lot smaller - you can fit 25 M50s in 798 Art District. It's also relatively cheaper to open your art space here, as the rent costs about 3 RMB/sqm per day. Renting a pop-up or subletting a space is also a common practice. Today we will visit 23 places together, so you can see it for yourself if this is a good place for your projects.
