Showing how to trim lines inside a shape in Inkscape with Path -- Intersection.

Steps:
1. Set line Fill to None so Path works properly!!
2. Convert line
If curved line, select Path — Stroke to Path
If straight line, select Path — Flatten
3. Duplicate shape underneath
4. Select line and duplicated shape
5. Select Path — Intersection
