Adam White on powering AI from grid to core to physical AI at COMPUTEX 2026.
In this video interview, Adam White, Division President Power & Sensor Systems at Infineon Technologies talks about the emerging technologies and approaches to powering everything for AI, from grid to core to physical AI. Talking about developments announced around Computex 2026 in Taiwan in June 2026, he highlights the significance of announcements such as that of Infineon joining Nvidia’s MGX AI factory ecosystem to enable power delivery architecture for next generation AI server racks, t security and post-quantum security for physical AI.
He tells EE Times’ Executive Editor, Nitin Dahad, about the importance of ecosystems and collaboration as technology complexity increases. He also said that we are at a tipping point for GaN (gallium nitride) technology, with customers increasing seeing its value proposition. However, he noted that there’s more and more of a need for a hybrid approach to developing power solutions that involve silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride: he commented, “Hence there’s a need to master all three technologies.”
White also talks about the industry trend towards solid-state, especially with transformers and now solid-state circuit breakers. On the latter, he talks about the came changing nature in terms of both isolation and speed.
