Comparing an antique Carbon filament lamp with a modern induction lamp. Carbon filament lamp was the original type electric lamp to be used in homes and the induction lamp is a modern lamp using a globe containing a Mercury vapour and Phosphore coating. The lamp suses no electrodes or filaments relying instead of an induction coil to ionize the MV inside the glass envelope.
