InDesign GIF Export, not a problem with PDFMarkz!
You can use Markzware PDFMarkz to convert a PDF into a new InDesign layout, with live text, images, the works. We open the same PDF via PDFMarkz in Affinity Publisher and Publisher allows you to export the AFPUB document as a GIF image.

There is a work-around, using the in5 Easy Export Wizard, a third-party solution from our friends at Ajar Productions:
