Getting back with some of the Earthly Eats series, exploring unique cuisine WORLDWIDE!
If' you're walking on the beach in Indonesia, DON"T MISS this unassuming beach vegetation that's used for a classed Acehnese salad called "sambai sawi laot"! I'm at Noni's Warung on the north tip of Sumatra, and this amazing plant is growing all over the sand. Made with the sambai sawi as the theme, it also has shredded coconut, cucumber, belimbing, green chile, lime leaf & roast coconut dressing. The roast coconut dressing is wild, it' tastes almost like a peanut butter. Perfect for the vegans, vegetarians, and even the flexaterians like myself. 😎This is authentic Acehnese cuisine at it's finest!

There's some similar ingredients in Rass Rod's "Leaf of Life" Salad, in Jamaica it's called Sour Barge but in Sumatra its called belimbing!
