Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places | In the Underground Maze at the Abandoned Mount Etna Mine (Part 2) @AbandonedMines11 | Uploaded November 2021 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
The unusual thing about the abandoned Mount Etna Mine is its maze-like layout. This is one of those abandoned mines that resembles Swiss cheese inside because of all the crazily inter-connected stopes and shafts that go off in different directions. It definitely feels like one is wandering around in an underground labyrinth. Silver, manganese, and lead were mined here back in the 1920s along with some smaller amounts of gold, copper, antimony, and zinc.
Here in Part 2, I continue exploring the Mount Etna Mine by debating whether or not to cross a couple boards placed in front of a very deep and dangerous shaft. Later on, I find some other tunnels to explore and come across a functioning ore cart in one of them! There’s also another dangerous crossing on some old boards at a grizzly positioned over a shaft.
