Edited from a conversation between Curator of Education Jason Dake and Studio PM owner Paul Machnik about this year's Dorset Print Collection. The 2020 collection of 30 prints includes 11 prints created at Studio PM in collaboration with Inuit artists. The discussion shed light on how some of these wonderful prints came into being.

Studio PM is an internationally acclaimed printmaking studio in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, specializing in etching and aquatint. Founded in 1978 by Paul Machnik, Studio PM has been an incubator for numerous artists over the years. Having learned his trade first as an apprentice under Richard LaCroix, Paul went on to work with master plate makers in the professional engraving industry before opening his own studio.

The Dennos Museum Center has hosted the Annual Dorset Print Collection every year since 1991, and sales of the prints support Inuit artists and the Museum. To learn more about this year's print collection and to purchase, please visit our store website.
