In a rare move, Gov. Greg Abbott defends Medicaid funding for Texas  @texastribune

Ater a Texas Tribune report found that the state expects to lose $27 million a day in Medicaid funding due to a $9.8 billion cut in funding from the Trump administration, Governor Greg Abbott issued a rare statement pushing back against the president, stating that Texas health care providers should receive the funding they are due. While hospitals are already paid less than they spend on Medicaid patients, they are also losing out on additional reimbursement for 2027.
