The Texas State Board of Education just approved two major changes to public school curriculum. Starting in 2030, students in grades 1–12 will read passages from the Bible. The board members also voted to overhaul social studies standards which included the removal or alteration of Black, Brown, and Indigenous history.
Nearly 500 community members appeared before the SBOE to make their voices heard on the changes.
