In Idaho, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service helped farmer Tyson Meeks use less water, improve soil moisture uniformity, reduce erosion, and keep nutrients in his field. Through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), a voluntary conservation program, NRCS provided technical and financial assistance to help Tyson convert 50 acres of his farm from gravity irrigation to more efficient irrigation pivot systems.
