Hi guys! I'm sorry I haven't been uploading a lot of videos lately. This quick improv is just my way of assuring you that I'm not dead. Currently, I'm working on two huge videos: a new Lindsey Stirling cover and a new "Big Piano Medley."
The first week of college has been a little rough for me. I'm trying to figure out times when I can record that don't interfere with my class schedule and when the piano I like is available to be played. That being said, and with some luck, I think I might be able to have these two new videos I've been working on finished by the end of the week.
So, now onto this video! This is an improvisation in the truest sense of the word. Nothing at all was pre-planned, and I wanted to see exactly how far I could stretch my ability before it started to sound messy. I also wanted to explore some new jazzy ideas that I've taken to learning. About a third of the way through, I decided to make a theme centered around the chord progression: F-Ab-C-Eb. This is as much an experimental video to me as it should be to you: what do you think I should work on this year? What new techniques can I learn to make my playing and my improvisation better?
I think I may do these "personal evaluation videos" once a year or so. Anyway, I hope you enjoy Improvisation Number 36 in C Major!
