This isn't the kind of video I usually upload, so here's a little explanation. My girlfriend is in a band called Wake Up Jamie (which you should totally check out!), and we had a Halloween party where (mostly) everyone dressed up. It was really cool and there was pizza!
One of her bandmates was there so they deided to do this little concert for us! I recorded it, but she had trouble downloading the file, so I'm uploading it here! Enjoy!
I'll be working on some kind of digifu project with her in the future, so stay tuned for that as well!

Being part of SilvaGunner has introduced me to a lot of mashup culture, and Neil Cicierega is up there as one of my favorite mashup artists. Id been following him before all of this from his gameboy mystery videos, Potter Puppet Pals, and other random stuff that hes done. If youve played Final Fantasy 6 (which you totally should), youll know that the intro to this cover comes from a track called Wild West, and it plays in a barren desert-y area. Which is totally appropriate here.

The title is a reference to advice I feel like Im constantly giving other transfemme folks I run across online and in real life - showing up for yourself consistently is the best way to get closer to all of your goals that seem unattainable, whether they have to do with transitioning, learning how to dress yourself for the first time, or even learning a creative skill like composition or drawing. Even if it feels like theres no point and its hopeless, or if it feels like itd take too long to be worth it.")
