In this video, I talk to David Pashley of Direct Insight about the phenomenal importance of security or cybersecurity for developments for the Internet of Things, IoT.
He talks about the various aspects of security that need to be employed in a development including the need for authentication, secure boot, OTA updating (Over The Air updates), etc.
All of these need to be designed in from the inception of the development of the firmware for the IoT product.
To ensure the product is fully secure the device needs to be shipped free from exploitable vulnerabilities so software composition analysis is required.
