ImmersionRC may have confirmed that RapidFIRE modules of Batch #2 have mainly improved in terms of compatibility to camera/VTx/OSD setups, but what is better than finding it out on your own during a sunny day at a bando with friends, two modules, plenty of antennas and a huge box with FPV monitors and a camera inside?
TLDR: Modules from batch #1 and batch #2 seem to have identical performance. Flash the latest firmware, stick a rubber cube between the SMA connectors and consider your batch #1 module equal to a batch #2. There is no need to upgrade or mod your batch #1 module, unless you are experiencing compatibility issues.
If you have already seen my previous FPV goggle module shootouts, rest assured that the same attention to detail has been put into this round of comparisons as well. The "test quad" was using a TBS Unify Pro 5G8 V3 VTx at 200mW on F4 5800MHz with an AXII antenna and a Runcam Swift 2 camera, through a Revolt OSD F/C.
