Anthony Pym | Ilse Feinauer: Revision in translation @AnthonyPym | Uploaded August 2017 | Updated October 2024, 8 hours ago.

Revision is an integral part of professional translation projects as one of the post-translational phases to be performed in managing the quality of translated products. Unfortunately revision (including post-editing and fuzzy-matching) is very often lacking in the curricula of translation programmes. Revision as process is defined and revision parameters and principles are described comprehensively in the literature. But do the descriptions give a true picture of what revision entails in real-world translation projects and can the literature alone prepare students for the job-market?
